Bako National Park is one of my favourite places in Sarawak. Great beaches, forest walks and lots of proboscis monkeys, macaques, wild boar and other wildlife. This secluded beach was a great retreat one afternoon, so I took some sketches and reference shots so I could capture the peaceful feeling I had that day. It’s painted in acrylic with a heavy impasto giving it thick, rich texture.
