Full Moon Series #2 – print

Some nights the moon barely registers as a shape – just a pale presence behind layers of fast-moving clouds. I was drawn to the abstract quality of it all, the way coloured light seemed to scatter and pool in the cloud formations. Blues deepening to charcoal, unexpected touches of coral and yellow where the moonlight hit moisture in the air. Watercolour let me work wet-into-wet, letting colours find each other the way clouds drift and collide. This feels less about the moon as an object and more about its power to make atmosphere itself become visible. Weather has its own palette, and sometimes the most interesting paintings happen when you let go of trying to define edges too clearly.
