Super Moon #1 – print

The supermoon rose with this radiating quality, like it was pushing light outward into the surrounding sky. I reduced the branches to simple calligraphic lines – just enough to anchor the composition without competing with that luminous spread of colour. The sky shifted from deep violet at the edges through pale peach and cream near the moon itself. Working in oils let me build up those glowing transitions with more body and richness than watercolour would allow, blending the colours while keeping that diffuse, atmospheric quality. When the moon comes this close to Earth, it feels less like you're looking at something distant and more like you're part of the same system. The bare branches crisscrossing became a way to measure that light, to give it context and scale.
