This is a fine art Giclée print reproduction of my original painting “Super Moon #2“.
The print is on archival paper, suitable for framing.
I framed this shot looking through the canopy when the supermoon climbed into view. The branches created this dense lattice – some silhouetted black, others catching enough light to show warm browns and ochres. The sky graduated from pale yellow near the moon through to soft coral and pink at the edges. Working with watercolour in the studio, I could layer the branches at different depths, some sharp and defined, others more transparent where moonlight filtered through the leaves. We tend to treasure images of the moon hanging on its own in the sky, but I love the scale and framing added by trees, how these branches map out space against the sky.
